From the Great Laker's Mouth!!

Today as I write from the Great Lakes campus, the least that I can say is that I feel privileged. Privileged to be a part of the Great Lakes community and the Spartans family. The last 2 days have been nothing but absolute delight. The feel of being a collegiate, a hostelite, the many introductions with batch mates, the sharing of a joke or two with people I did not know a day before is pure fun. Be it erratic hours at night or the sunny afternoons, both have their charm. I cannot believe that these are the 2 days, during which I have probably spent the maximum number of hours awake!! The watermelon juice and a maggi at 3 in the morning, over some carefree banter is one of those simple pleasures, but ones to cherish.

Today being the 1^st official day at Great Lakes, I can already feel that the next 1 year will just fly by and before we know it, it will probably be time to leave. Sitting in a classroom with 283 students, and attending sessions for almost 9 hours brought back old memories. Playing sign language and listening to that 1 professor who has his own way of pronouncing words is a mandatory recipe for a class that is rollicking with laughter and Great Lakes is not spared from this one.  With the convocation and farewell just around the corner, I have almost even forgotten that we are here to study! But thanks to our professors, and guest speakers, I am convinced that they will leave no stone unturned to ensure that we are constantly on the run. The 70 minutes on Shahrukh’s Chak De and the 364 days on our Chak De may be a different ball game altogether but the mission is just one – to aspire and conquer very very HIGH…
